Rock Climbing, Zip-Lining and Horseback Riding…Oh My…Costa Rica!!!
I set out on this journey to go see the world but I’ve also realized in this time how important it is to keep the connections you have back home. I’ve met some amazing people from all over the world but home is where the heart is.
One of my best friends is getting married and his bachelor party happens to take place in Costa Rica.
I won’t be breaking any bro codes in this blog posting but lets just leave it to your imagination. We can say that one day you’ll be watching “Hangover: Costa Rica Edition.” Yes, that’s how awesome of a time we had over there!
I made a mistake of not purchasing my flight sooner and waited until I got back to the States and ended up paying double the price the other guys paid. Anyhow, we got to Tamarindo, Costa Rica just in time for a down pour.
In this trip I didn’t do much self-reflection as I did in Southeast Asia. This was totally all about surf, sand, drinking and fun. Again, I’ll leave it off to your imagination what that fun entailed – it did include 3 raccoons.
Just know it involved lots of drinking, partying, running away from smelly surfers who should definitely shower. If any of you are out traveling the world surfing, its important that you know body order isn’t acceptable in any climate or location. And yes, being in the ocean all day does not replacing bathing with soap and water.
But, I digress.
Oh wait, my nasal memory just recalled the smell it has tried to block.
Costa Rica is beautiful. The people, the food and the activities are definitely worth a trip out here. Plenty of flights to San Jose or Tamarindo. We chose the Tamarindo airport which was closer to the home we rented which happened to be just yards away from the beach. If you are looking to rent a home in Costa Rica definitely check out AirBNB.com.

We drove through a down pour, made a couple stops along the way to buy some beers to drink en route to the rental home. We were pleasantly surprised of our choice – 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and central courtyard with a pool. Definitely a perfect place.
We spent a few nights out in town drinking but really enjoyed the day doing the activities Costa Rica is well known for…adventure tourism – yup, rock climbing, zip-lining, white water rafting (ouch, I hurt myself on that one), horseback riding and drinking!!!
